Betty Payne
2007-2008 Teacher of the Year
at Horizon Heights Elementary School, Socorro Independent School District
Betty retired at the end of May after 23 years
in the teaching profession,
18 of which she was Librarian at Horizon Heights Elementary School.
The Payne Family hosted a Retirement Party for
Betty on
Thursday, May 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at St. Christopher’s in Rice Hall.
Family, friends, and colleagues enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, followed
by a slide show presentation by Betty’s husband Donald which included
highlights of her life, career, and travels.
Betty and Donald are long-time parishioners of St. Christopher’s.
